Right at the very begining I said america has made mistakes.

From different posters drift I get the impression that some think america can sit back and do nothing.
If america did nothing, certain areas of the world would be in greater turmoil and in flames.
The same who complain about their actions would be screaming the loudest because our standard of living would plummet and the people of middle east would have no hope of bringing up their children in the modern world.
If there is any naivity on this thread its not mine.
As for obama, pretty soon he is going to find out there is a vaste difference between talking and doing.
    The real world awaits him.

For those who complain about america selling arms. have you any concept of what the balance of power means?

      Um, ya.

In international relations, a balance of power exists when there is parity or stability between competing forces. As a term in international law for a 'just equilibrium' between the members of the family of nations, it expresses the doctrine intended to prevent any one nation from becoming sufficiently strong so as to enable it to enforce its will upon the rest.
In practice the USA sure isn't part of that theory!

In practical arms trade business it means selling both sides the same ****
so they more or less neutralize each others military advantage until the next newest "models" come out.

      KaChing for the USA.

PS. If you have to have Overlords, you could do a lot worse than the USA.

Noel the world is a hostile place, without the yanks I would fear for my children.

Its easy to sit on the sidelines, have the freedom to criticise, no nation on earth has done more to give us that freedom. My last word, See you on the snooker threads mate.

Obama Bin Ladin wins the election. It's like asking the fox to move into the hen house. He is a left wing commie and his true colors will show themselves soon enough. He can't even proove he's an American. As far as Biden is concerned, he is little more than a rat. He will change his loyalties faster and more often than most people change their underware. Folks should do a little more investigating before jumping on the band wagon with Barrack Hussien Obama. We may end up like England if were not careful. No guns and a mosque on every corner.

Listening to "Talkin' John Birch Paranoid Blues" might help you understand the silliness of this.

He is more right wing than most of Austria's conservative party... I guess this means we have been gouverned by communists (= social democrats) for the better part of the the last 50 years.
I just wonder what you would call the real communist party over here then.

              Hohoho! Are you for real?

Not that I actually care who is in the white house (see earlier post) but as for changing loyalties, I think McCain did a pretty good job himself, from being a loyal supporter of Bush to one of his biggest critics in virtually no time.
