Beating another pro 9-0 in 81 minutes is by far the most amazing record. Though I'm pretty sure he would rank winning the Predator International 10-ball Championship as his biggest achievement, considering the incredibly strong starting field.

sorry but for any snooker player to point to a pool win as his greatest achievemant is failure.....

i know that sounds harsh but its acurate..........

for me his biggest achievemant was being Runner up to jimmy white in the 1991 Mita World Masters in Birmingham

The 9 - 0 in 81 minutes could well be an all time standing record. In itself winning 9 - 0 is a rare thing and then also with that speed.

How long did Hendry's 9-1 win over O'Sullivan take?

I would say that his biggest achievement is indeed in the pool world. Winning the Mosconi Cup has made him a super star in the pool world, then winning the Predator was just icing on the cake.
He still has a chance to perhaps win a pool (8 or 9 or 10 ball ) world championship. I know lots of pool players love watching him play.

Then all players who have not a tournament on the Main Tour are failures.

Anyone who have won multiple international cuesport titles with TV coverage and big price money, and is probably more wellknown than most other snooker players can hardly be considered failiures.

A few years ago I bumped into Tony Drago at the UK when it was at the Barbican. I was in a food queue, and I turned around and who should I see, the Maltese Maestro himself. I paid for my food and I wished him luck in his match. He grunted something unintelligible at me so I just smiled at him, and it was only later when I looked at the draw that I realised he was already knocked out. You don't need to be a genius to work out what he probably said to me...

mate if youre been playing snooker all youre life trying to make something out of the game .....then when you aproaching 40 you look around and find something easier to play and to have success with its in my mind failure in the sport you put most of youre life in to....

as a pool player hes a success however as i said in the beggining for any snooker player to point to a pool tournament as his greatest achievemant is failure as a pool player he is having the most success not snooker...

in years to come Tony Drago will be remembered as a great pool player but ultimatly seen as a failure in snooker with the talent he had...

I don't agree! Tony is the one to tell us if he had 'failed' in snooker, but the Mosconi Cup performace last year by Tony was just class.

honestly, how can you say pool is "easier to play"? In every sport one has to work very very hard to be the best.

While I agree that he should have achieved more in snooker with the talent he has (this can be said about sooo many players), I don't see him playing pool as a step back, more like a very clever use of resources. With the talent he has it would have been very stupid to just hang his cue and never play again in front of an audience after he dropped off the Tour.

About pool being easier: winning big tournaments in pool is just as hard as in snooker as there are so many capable players.

BTW, didn't Tony win an invitational snooker tournament in China? I think it was in Gouangzhou (sp?), and he beat Steve Davis in the final. I've tried to find a bit more info about that tournament before, but I've only found the result of the final.
