Footballing Question

Have we any Refs or Players out there that knows what would happen if a team had used all of it's subs but 1 (or worse) players got injured through (Mr.Essien!!) a bad tackle say?

I'd suggest that it would be unfair NOT to allow another sub or thinking laterally, remove a player from the other side.... that hopefully wouldn't be on the pitch anyway because he'd have a red card to his name.

It happened to AC Milan when they won the CL, a player (Roque Junior) got injured when all the subs had been made, but he stayed on the pitch even though he could hardly walk.
