Who, on the other hand, refused to buy jam in Switzerland because it was too expensive? 2 pound for some jam, hello??? The same man.
Yes, he refused to buy jam, instead he did that ( from wikipedia ) :

Schumacher is a special ambassador to UNESCO and has donated 1.5 million Euros to the organization. Additionally, he paid for the construction of a school for poor children and for area improvements in Dakar, Senegal. He supports a hospital for child victims of war in Sarajevo, which specialises in caring for amputees. In Lima, Peru he funded the "Palace for the Poor", a centre for helping homeless street children obtain an education, clothing, food, medical attention, and shelter. He stated his interest in these various efforts was piqued both by his love for children and the fact that these causes had received little attention. While an exact figure for the amount of money he has donated throughout his life is unknown, it is known that in his last four years as a driver, he donated at least $50 million. In 2008 it was revealed that he had donated between $5M and $10M to the William J. Clinton Presidential Center and Park of Bill Clinton.

PS I am sure the jam is more relevant than all those charity acts.......

I'll be pleased to see schumacher back to add a bit of spice to the season. Its impossible to deny that the guy is a cheat and very arrogant but hes certianly the best F1 driver ive seen in my days. I would love to see how Button or Hamilton would get on in a head to head situation against him!

He also earned around 900m Euro in his career, so 50m are only peanuts and probably taken from the interest.
Does anyone really think he´s coming back to support Ferrari and Felipe in this hard times? Come on, he just wants to be celebrated and in the spotlight of interest again

So what ? He is just a fantastic sportman who at the age of 40 wants to race again, just like Lance Armstrong in cycling and many others who did make a come back (Michael Jordan etc...)

He earned 900 m Euro because he was damn good, if not THE BEST. Nobody came and said : Michael here are 900 m euro for you, go on and spend them.
Those money were earned fair, in a very dangerous sport.

And yes, i believe he came back to help Ferrari and Felipe. He retired in 2006 and gave Massa a chance to remain at Ferrari and after his retirement he continued to help the firm as an adviser and sometimes as a test pilot.

You dont like him, thats fine, alot feel the same, but to minimise his charity acts, is too much. He gave more money than any other sportsman, thats something even you cannot deny.
