Now i have seen everything...
A ebay listing, well he has several, for someone WANTING to buy cues with a 'buy it now' which in small letters say the buy it now is for....a picture of a cue https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WANTED-Jo...AAAOSwA6heoFzx
When a cue has a round butt they put the badge higher up on the butt, i can only assume its due to the badge needing to go in deeper if it were in the usual location the sd joint hole would probably interfere with the hole for the badge, or split the wood at that point, so they place it higher to avoid it.
Yes, that's true. With Jimmy's it was very high, because he tinkered and added length to the butt also. He did it 2 or 3 times and the badge ended up 4 inches or so from the end. I wouldn't be surprised if some people requested to copy Jimmy's cue and have it higher than usual, without realising why Jimmy's was the way it was
Maybe they were trying to replicate Jimmy's H&O cue midway through it's transformation?

That one with the bad badge and butt went up to ?270.
in the meantime a new one appeared on ebay, looks a bit suspicious if you ask me, badge that high up and round butt, what do you experts think? https://www.benl.ebay.be/itm/324182818111
There was a similar cue badged Ultimate 1170 up for sale for ?8k recently alleged to be Jimmy's cue but I'm told thats it's not
Ok Dean, probably sold now, i see it's not longer available, wasn't interested anyway, i got plenty, just wondered because it looks different.
Strange also that this #1130 seemed to be the so called 'red glue' model and my 1186 isn't.
He most have switched around that time.
I wonder how many actually leave the shop each year in total, all models.
JP did change glue around this time (~2006/7) yes, but there was not a clean divide in the numbers though
round butt - not common but known
high badge - unusual but known
