I had a look at this JRC , do you think the butt is very varnished for a Butters cue?

Think he's probably given it a quick coat of oil for the pictures thinking it would make it look better.

Ye Olde Ash cue

another ye old ash went on yesterday along with a Stevenson cue not sure if it's authentic but If it is authentic its a very early one

Dunno about that olde ash, could be legit but looks a bit pristine and the shaft doesn't appear to have much in the way of age or wear to it. Could have been refinished i suppose. Splice fingers also look a bit on the long side.

Absolutely nothing wrong with that cue, can see by the shape of the butt that it's exactly the same as the one I have.
That's why I tried to buy it at the time!

Aparently it's whippy, so fine over short distances, but with long pots, "sprays the ball all over the place".
