When a cue has a round butt they put the badge higher up on the butt, i can only assume its due to the badge needing to go in deeper if it were in the usual location the sd joint hole would probably interfere with the hole for the badge, or split the wood at that point, so they place it higher to avoid it.

Yes, that's true. With Jimmy's it was very high, because he tinkered and added length to the butt also. He did it 2 or 3 times and the badge ended up 4 inches or so from the end. I wouldn't be surprised if some people requested to copy Jimmy's cue and have it higher than usual, without realising why Jimmy's was the way it was

              • Just spotted this!!!

                https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/264757203057

An outdoor snooker table!! ‘Just built’ yeah right!

You’d need a set of steps to play a shot down the black spot!

Seems reasonably rare to see a BCE Westbury for sale. Would the cracked legs make a difference to the installation (or just cosmetic)? Could they be easily repaired?

With that hurdle out of the way, I just need to buy a new house and build the snooker room!

                              • Ray Reardon (Snooker) Ltd. were operating in Bristol in the late 1970s and early 80s covering an area from the Midlands to the South coast. Not sure how much personal involvement Ray had.
