2k, sigh, some people really are mental Funny when you think of it that design dates from around 1896, but it's only really been popular since o'sullivan started using it. It's known these days as a parris design despite that not even being close to the truth.

I'd put a bet that the vast majority of 1 piece ultimates on order with parris are with this design. How o'sullivans is classed as an ultimate i've no idea considering the wonkiness of the grain.

    With the following caveat

I cannot say for 100 percent whether this cue is a true cue or a replica.

That's what i thought a while ago, obviously the badge needs a hole drilled into the butt as well, couple that with an sd joint and the wood separating the 2 holes is probably pretty thin.

it is not made of ebony. the splices are the wrong shape - the badge is wrong - the badge is in the wrong place. Unless john said so himself I would not touch it.

I like you think actually it may be real, you are looking at a round butt and with the resin covering the badge that is how they look like !
Yeah the covering makes the badge look odd, first time i've seen a traditional with a round butt though. The badge position does look correct for parris round butt cue, ebony looks like macassar in some of the pics..though stripey ebony on production cues is nothing new.

    Seems legit.

Actually on second viewing that could be a round butt variation considering where the badge is, i initially thought it was a really badly printed out badge. Special order possibly?
