    Did anyone see this for sale on ebay UK?

    could be, looks the sort of thing he would have wore towards the end, just a cheap Belgian top shop brand you can buy new for less than 20 and he was always skint and would have done that but with no provenance it's no more verifiable as his than any item of clothing in your wardrobe

      Yes you are right, without provenance it is not worth a bid.

      But I can believe the story that Alex had no money for a cab on the way home.

        hmm, somebody without scruples might buy it for 30, buy one of the signed prints that are sold for a fiver, frame them both and re-list with particular wording at 175 or more with offers and net a tidy profit without technically doing anything wrong...

          I would be very surprised if Alex Higgins wore a large size waistcoat, even in the best of health he wasn't the biggest of fellas(or didn't look it) and when he wasn't well in his latter years he was like a rake.

              Its sized as Large...considering Alex was always thin i very much doubt it would be his.
