  • Wanted!!!!!

    Hi all,

I am looking for an old machine spliced plain ebony butt cue with an ash or maple shaft for playing pool with.

lighter the better hoping for something around the 15oz mark.

shorter the better too as I will be having it cut to about 54 inch and taking to about 9mm tip.

    maker not important.

Come on ADR you know you have one knocking about
Just because its old, doesn't mean its worth a fortune!!

54"!! That's really short! I mainly play 8ball pool, and I use a cue that's 56.5" long, and I'm about 5'11", and I wouldn't go below 56, to be honest! Just my opinion.

Im only 5ft 7 so a shorter cue really suits.

For the last couple of years ive played with a 56 inch cue but have never really been able to produce the form I did when I was younger.

I used to play with a 54 inch riley diamond and my game was superb, it was using this cue that I got into the England side as a jnr and also represented wales-long story-.

I also made my first century with a 54.5 inch burwat champ.

I think its just in my head that a shorter cue will get back to that sort of form, so I thought i would try and get cheapish cue to experiment with before I get Trevor or Dave Coutts to make me a pool cue.

Have you had a reply back from Chris?

Ah, well, at 5'7", I suppose it'll be OK, especially if you've already played with that size before! It's the experience that makes the difference, so I hope it works for you! If you do make a century with it then I guess we can say that it's worked, eh?!

Good idea about the experiment first, it's cheaper in the long run.

I did get a quick reply from Chris, but I'm no further forward as he gave no details. Perhaps he was going out last night and he's not yet surfaced? Anyway, I'll let you know as we go along.

Have you seen my new avatar, by the way? Recognise it?

That's a bloody good deal!! I'd get rid of all the kids' toys for cues if I could just find somebody willing ...

                        What a great deal!
On some days I would think about even swapping the kids themselves for cues...
                        Not really...

I did not want to sound too rude...
But in reality... Somebody interested in swapping my almost 16 year old pubescent daughter for a decent cue? Or a 13 year old boy instead?
                            Also available as a bundle....
                            Buy one get one free...

I've got 3 already, they're all younger, and I was thinking of swapping them before they become adolescents!! What do you think, chatlag?
