          ADR's sidney smith cue is the year later the 1947-48-49 handspliced version not the machine spliced 47-48 version , you can just see the -4 after the 48 with the very faded 4 as the badge has been rubbed by constant use and the 9 is missing .
          Still worth the money though , I have one exactley the same but the badge is more defined and the date's are more clearly marked .

          is shotgun1's cue the same as ADR's and the 49 is rubbed away through use , as many have stated the 47-48 is only available in machine splice version , the hand spliced being bought out the year after with the 49 added to the badge .
