i agree with Caesar, by following your dreams. I don't come from money, am 35 years old and have finally bought a house that is going to fit my table.
The houses in canada are fairly inexpensive compared to england, plus they're much larger here. It was a little challenging to find a house that can fit a full sized table but July 15th is the big day. I purchased a BCE Westbury table about 6 months ago for $1800 (us funds), and its been sitting in my office at work.
I am in disbelief that i am going to be able to play anytime i want...its truly a dream come true, just hope my game improves! LOL
I also looked at houses where i would have to remove "the bearing wall" and put up an I-Beam in order to have the room 16' x 22'....The beams are the expensive thing approx $22 foot? and a little drywall and paint to fix it up. At my new house i have to move the furnace and the water heater but other than that small task, its perfect.
I even considered building a steel shed outside if i could not find a house that would fit one on the the inside
oh another expensive thing (aside from the actual table) is paying somebody to move it, new cloth, all the tackle, the balls, a good light, cues for guests, new pockets etc...so i think i'm about $4000 in after everything...but if you think about it, its not that much money cuz i probably spend $160/month at a club plus the odd drink, travel time etc...the table will pay for itself it 2 years, and it will still be worth more than what i paid for it because i think i paid under what its actually worth.
Its kind of sad because the games died here in canada but it seems as though its slowly starting to make a comeback, or maybe i'm just wishful thinking...
Sorry for the long post, just very proud of my table and love talking snooker with all of you....at times i feel like i don't deserve to type this much because i only have around 30 posts...but i'm trying over here! lol
anyways as Ringo says all the time...peace and love, peace and love
