  • Budget Cue from UT - the Thai Cuemaker

Hi. Back again for November Special. A budget cue from UT (Uncle Thai - the reputed, professional Thai Cuemaker). I took this one from his display rack. Been made about 2 months ago, during his free hours. Details -
    - Ash Shaft, One-piece, Premium Selection, 56.5 in., with 7 evenly chevrons. Medium to Stiff action. Tested. Good playing quality.
    - Balanced at 18 in. (A little more Weight Forward).
    - 29.5 mm Butt Diametre. 5-splice. Local Exotic Woods. Similar to Black&White African Ebony.
    - Tip 9.6 mm.
    - Total weight 17 oz.
    - Totally handmade. All by Uncle Thai.
    - Forget the badge. He took it from his old cue long time ago.
Net US$140, without delivery and mini butt. Great Budget Cue.
This one is a good cue. Beautiful. Good crafting quality. Suitable for any player looking for a good playing cue, but with limited budget.
PM me, or email to suvitc@gmail.com for aircost to your country.
(From the picture, you will notice a close up of a brown wood line near the butt splice. UT won't touch anything on the natural marking)

Can change to your own specs (shortened, etc.) but from my experience you have to pay additional cost, around US$15. And Aircost to HongKong is about US$38 (express - get to you in 4 days). Tks for asking

Sanman : Hope your 'beach strolling' experience is a good one
BTW, your cue costed more due to custom specs (59") and excellent old shaft

It will be almost a new work. Can do but I think you have to pay more than US$60 to get done (cost of striping the butt down, then re-work again to your specs). New total will be like US$200. Customizing a new one costs around US$185 for 5-splice butt work (no burr wood).

Better keep this as a Budget Cue for any player looking for a good playing cue. This cue has UT's premium selected Ash. Very well dried

What is the black wood used called?

What does it say on the badge?

                  Thank you.

                    1. Black wood on top splice is called 'NamJoy'. Local exotic hard wood. Don't know English word. Same family with Black&White Ebony.
                    2. Badge says 'Joe Davis World Champion 20 years'. Old and cracked in the middle. UT got it many years ago, he doesn't know from where (probably from one of his old cues). Found it and just put it on.
                    Tks for asking

It's no surprise that UT gets repeat customers all the times these days. UT can do a faster work as he does all cues by himself, one by one basis. This applies also to any Omin's. Besides, his woods are all well matured and ready for production. His sources of wood suppliers are quite effective, and fast. But other branded cues are also good, perhaps the production bookings are a long list, so ones have to wait quite sometimes to get their orders done. UK works are also very nice in the splicing jobs as well as the shafts. Though paying more, but well worth it. Simply that I can't afford those cues, when both UT and Omin places are in the same town I live in...Bangkok. Cheaper too. That I can get any custom cues in less than 3 weeks time
