  • Ebony cue blanks

    Hi all..

I have some black Indian ebony cue butt blanks for sale, approx 55 to 60 in total.

I'd like approx £17 per piece for them, but would be willing to accept a reasonable offer for the lot together.

Postage would not be too cheap to buy single pieces at a time, but can be arranged if it's required. I'll cover shipping if they all go together.

PM me here or contact me through.......

    trevor - dot - white - at - virgin - net

    Ta.

Oh, forgot to add, may have a few other bits I'd sell on also or throw in with them.

Surely a cue maker needs these ? - are they just not up to your standard - or are you not making ebony butts for a while ?

Seems a bit strange as to why a top cue maker would want to sell these..
Not played for 3 years and itching for a game....11-3-2017.

Not at all there are a few budding enthusiastic cue makers on here who will be thankful of the timber at a good price to practise their skills on
One of my friends on here has done so and produced some cracking work in a short space of time
I suspect the blanks are of good quality if not totally perfect for someone of Trevors exacting requirements but still good enough for most
Its not how well you play its how good you look playing that counts!

                  Trevor,
These are indonesia ebony, not gabon ebony, is that right?
Do you use both or do you usually go for the indonesia ebony?
                  Thank you.

Yes, I am still using ebony, obviously.

These are spare to what I need, I have hundreds more of African ebony.

The colour of these is very good and they finish very well, I just prefer working with the African stuff I have.

                        Not really.

If they don't go, I'll still use them in the future.

No, these are Indian ebony, not Indonesian ebony.

The stuff from Indonesia is one hell of an irritant, the dust is awful and the timber tends to be brown.

The term Gabon ebony is bounced about a lot in relation to ebony, but for many years now, much of the ebony coming from Africa is not necessarily coming from Gabon.
