UT's 10+ arrows ash shaft

UT has got this shaft with him now. The Ash wood is matured and ready for any custom production. 10+ arrows. Not that 'exactly evenly spaced' between each arrow, but looking good and will make a good cue. PM, or email me at suvitc@gmail dot com if interest.

- This piece of a Thai Cassod Wood (pattern line similar to zebrawood) will look very nice as a 4-splice butt.

uncle, just out of curiousity, i dont seem to notice that UT is big on selling maple shafts, or ever to begin with.
is it simply a thai culture in snooker that almost all thais like ash more than maple? i did notice that omin's and master's lines dont have maple cues.

or is it simply a cost problem?

Thai players prefer Ash shafts due to their beautiful pattern lines/arrows. Maple is too plain for them. Playing quality is different per shaft - ash or maple. Many players here claimed that the maple shaft is more 'harsh', 'less action' than ash. But I don't quite agree on this - personal talks with plenty of maple users. UT and Omin both have good stock of Maple shafts too, and their orders on the maple shafts are something like 1 to 5 of ash (60% of ash chosers here based their decision on 'lines/arrows beauties', besides the playing quality, while the other 40% just don't care about the lines/arrows as long as the shafts are of good playing quality - solid, firm, suitable action, etc. I am changing to a maple shaft in my next cue too. Why? Due to their long time stocking of this wood, I will have a very well aged maple shaft for my cue (sometimes my 'plenty arrows' ash cues are giving me kind of a 'blurr' effect when cuing - though looking beautifully - I am 54 last September ). Maple is about US$18-20 more expensive than Ash - Less import = Higher cost.

These are all my experience BTW, to answer other members question to me.... UT is not UV _

this time, your SHAFT, however stiff, may be too plain to look at and may warp in an S shape, my friend. BEWARE!!!

haha actually, for my cue, id like one with close grains. if that makes sense.. i dont care much for arrows, but close tight grains is something i like. if that would be possible. =]

My SHAFT is warping now. Tip first. I don't know the look of well matured shaft Maker uses the humidity scaler, and I also judge from the dust on the blanks

So, you are looking for the ash wood that was, slowly, growing up on the mountains with less water and humidity. Can be done

LOL if thats wat ash with tight grains is, then YES. i am hahaid hav no idea to be honest. but i like the look of lots of tight grains together. instead of thick lines that are wide apart.

Thighter grains would come from trees that grow slower. That means less moisture and poor soil. What would be a better bet would be to get a piece of ash from a really old tree. Those would be better I wuld think

Oh really, i did not know that. well either way, i want whatever the master craftsman would recommend! since i am playing with a cheap ebay chinese MYX cue atm, i just want a cue thats similar specs, but better quality wood. cant wait to get it all processed gonna be awesome!!

yeh it sounds real promising. as long as its better than my MYX one now, ill be happy haha whioch is guaranteed to be :P lol
