If they're falling appart you're damaging them while fitting/shaping them.

I agree..... I stick with Elk too though I clamp mine and compress them before fitting and shaping up as this means they don't need knocking in as much.
Not tried these granite tips or the super tips but I have tried some real expensive one in the past like talisman hard etc., and it felt like hitting the ball with a brick.

I dont think so, i am using talisman S in last 2 years, replace a tip around 4-5mth only, just happen 1 time sbout the tip split to 2 side. and i bring the tip to the agent and he exchanged another one to me.....lets discuss more about this tip.

Hi snooker fans sometimes you get a good tip in the box and other times you get a bad one. I have bought a box of elk master tips and i would say in a box of 50 tips 30 tips are good. A friend of mine uses a talisman tip and to date he had no trouble with them.

I have used talisman tips in the past but never had a problem.
I would advice only to buy them in 11mm size but having said that You also need to be careful while cutting down and shaping them.

But do you treat them the same way as traditional tips? As they are made from many layers instead of one you can tear them apart if not careful.

Absolutely. You have to be much more careful with layered tips for that reason, but that's not to say they're defective, just different. I played with a talisman medium for 2-3 season, and found it a little too unforgiving of bad cuing for my lack of ability, maybe the soft would have been better. Of the 3 tips I bought, 1 is still on my cue (although I don't much play with that one anymore), another went to a friend (who still has on) and the other is sat upstairs!

I dont have any problem with mine. But if you dont like the way it plays then it is not for you.
Speaking of inconsistency, Elk master tips has got to be the most inconsistent tip out there though in my opinion.

Maybe in terms of hardness, but what about blue diamond? Most of those are now like sponges.

Blue diamond, too. If you find a good one it is great but you really need to 'find" it.
