Burwat Champion Cue Wanted

i have a perfect one of those somewheere in a case but for the life of me i can't find it! - looking at these prices it might be time to sell a few old cues again - what was the other one?

Just a pretty knocked up 'the riley cue' went for about £50, but I've been looking for a 'screwless' version, and they're easy to touch up, so it'll do nicely.

Again a little nick from the front splice on the JD 135 but not a cue you see too often so happy with the price.

had the 135 been mint i would have gone to £250 - funny when you think 3 -4 years ago it would have fetched £400 easily.

I also have this cue a fine example of a J. Davis 109 break cue..and its 77 years old.I also prefer this cue to my fathers burwat champion.

It is amazing how quickly things can change, a quick google from this forum alone, if you look at some of the prices quoted back 3-4 years ago and they look silly by todays prices! One I remember was b&w mascots at 250+.

That said, the burwat champion is definitely making a resurgance this year. In the last 18 months I've seen some poorer version going ~£100-£150, not you're seeing very little under £200 even for less than perfect examples.

Still have it...but i play with this cue at the moment..

The JD is in outstanding condition, my jaw dropped when Warren showed me it and said it was 77 years old I couldnt believe it.

believe it or not the 109 is more common than the 135.

Ive only seen it done nowadays on replicas, never by any of the modern makers - just wondered why it died out

its not common but if you ask for it most cue makers have the stamps. i think it died out in the 60's more or less but i still like a weight stamp on a modern cue!
