I have a friend who needs to raise some money so is offering to sell a full set of boxed snooker ivoires 1890's i would guess. open to sensible offers for a quick sale.

lol ivory - i would say about £1500-£1600 but i can put forward any offer.

Positive. The pattern of cracking is very distinctive, also the matt finish and even wear. Unmistakable composition. Might be pre-war, but more likely 50s or 60s. Nice to see a boxed compendium set though.

interesting stuff - thats more what i am used to seeing although i have seen ivory balls that are very clean indeed - i turn them into badges for cues . i must admit i am more informed on the cues than other areas but its always nice to learn more.

Agree too. This single ball is genuine Ivory. The 'net' pattern form will all look like this one. I collect Asian Ivory for more than 10 years by now.
