Very rare riley push butt cue / MACE.

Just in support of my theory that this cue could have been made many years after the use of the butt was outlawed, I uncovered this advert from Willie Holt in Blackpool: "We Polish our Cues from Butt to Tip and fit each with a leather pad at Butt end." Date? - October 1928!

I wouldn't suggest that your cue is as late as this, but it makes you think.

lol - rules i guess are made to be broken plently of pubs use old rules for pool etc. the trouble with things like cues etc is that like any hand made item they can be tailored to the buyers needs so there are no fixed rules to help you, for example burwat cues usually follow a particular pattern in the woods that are used and the style but i have seen one without a veneer and i know it was genuine the gentleman still had the receipt !
