Funny enough people still phone me up and I did look at the possibility so I would have an odd one so I was going over the options and for the first time I looked up Chinese cue suppliers and the very first one I came to was selling what they called classic cues and the photograph of the twelve cues they had on show was of my cues that they had lifted from my old website smartsnooker. Most people say that is terrible but in a way I was quite chuffed about it as I was very small fry in the cue business.I sent them an email and mentioned the photo and as a result they are sending me a dozen of my own cues for more or less the price of postage. They are going to be butt jointed ash/ebony hand spliced with an 8.5mm tip.I sold far more slim ones to the pool players than snooker so I always liked them slimer than normal. They will not arrive for a couple of months so I am eagerly looking forward to seeing them.

specs are as follows...length is 571/2 inches Tip size is 9.25mm weight is 18.83oz Butt diam is 30mm and balance is 17 inches from the base of the cue Cue is being sold with a black leather type peradon 3/4 case not the best case in the world but still works perfect and will also help keep the case save when it gets posted. Asking price for cue and case is £200 + £10 for postage to anywhere in the UK.

        THANKS.

Thanks for the reply , Andy. My own Gibbs cue is more " snooker spec" i.e. 3/4, 57" + tip, 9.4mm (ish), 18 &1/8" to the joint, butt is about 30mm dia, total splice length is 16.25" and the balance is 19",weght is at about 20oz and the shaft is very dense, it weighs 8 oz itself and is only 39" long.Still plays well and I do occasionally use it for eight ball ( basically to challenge myself at " touch" shots). I think it was a one piece and jointed after, with a dot to dot joint,of course and the grain lines still match perfectly. There is no ebony in this cue and apart from the joint,no extra weight as far as I can tell.

Well spotted it was a one piece as all the 3/4s were then jointed.I always felt it was cheating just turning out a solid butt then a small bit of splicing above the joint.

The one piece has too small a tip and they're both a little light, both really nice looking cues though. I've sent a message to andyg of the type of cue I'm after so I'll need to wait n see, cheers lads.
