I'm still using the one I got off Andrew (ADR147) and can honestly say that from experience of using both the Kamui Black 11m MH, and the Talisman M, that yes, they both do start to lose the ability to hold chalk..... ONLY IF YOU DON'T CHALK REGULARLY.

I have a habbit of playing a few shots in practice without chalking up, but always regularly chalk up during frames, and I have noticed this makes a BIG difference.

Even with the lack of chalk on the tip... I'm still getting amazing grip (I have had the odd mis-cue from bad cueing though), but in general... I think this tip is amazing... very consistent and has already, in less than 2 weeks, boosted my break building confidence.

Couldn't agree more... to be fair, I was the same with the Talisman M, but one of them split the day before a tournament... so I'm just keeping them as a last minute reserve in my case... but it's the delicate touch shots that help with position and hence bigger breaks... and these are what the Kamui Tip is making relatively easy

because i sell every sort of tip i am reluctant to say one is the best etc! but i think right now the kamui might be the best tip you can buy.

as a stick on, shape and play, it definitely is for consistency. I do love the Talisman M, but it's like a stone at first and takes a few frames for it to strangely 'soften' up. Once it's played in though, I would nearly put it on par with the Kamui... though the fact that the Talisman split on me, left me a little concerned... but it was only 1 that split after a few months of play.

How does it compare with a talisman S? Is the medium harder or softer than a talis S?

I'm using the MH, and it's harder than the Talisman S and I think there's more feel from it

Seems to me that as the tip naturally gets harder that the characteristics that make the tip no longer work as well and therefore its like any other tip really only it seems worse because of the lack of chalk adherance and other problems like the feel etc. For £10-£12 I think its a rip off as it doesn't do the job it claims to, well at least not for more than a few frames anyway.
I have heard the same things about this problem, and i have had the same problem.
To eliminate this, first just be sure the tip´s shape is still nicely rounded!

Second, i recommend to use a tip pick tool.

After this, the tip should feel right again for a long time...if it is genuine one.
