There's not much by way of chevrons present anywhere on the shaft, rather a very tight grain all the way around. It is also exceptionally stiff and, despite being rather short in stature (fifty-five inches) and sporting a 7.8 millimetre tip, weighs in at an impressive 18.2 ounces.
Apparently an Oak shaft according to Dave Brown at Craftsman where I had it reweighted... funny as Jason thought he'd bought Ash

In a similar vein, does anyone have an opinion as to the wood used in the facing splice of the second cue from the left in my first photograph on page 9? The other two are padauk and purple heart, but I'm unsure of the third.
