not sure but i think you can get a cue of that design from t,white for 450 i know for sure you can from robin cook. the reason i wouldn't buy it is it would be pretty hard to get your money back if you sold it on or anywhere near your money back. people wont part with there cash unless its a cue made by a top maker. as for the level of workmanship how do we know there not in the market so we cant compare to the other top cues. they might be the bees knees but i think it takes time to build up a good fan base before you can start charging top prices.

Maybe badged "ultimate" BUT its not by JP try reading it again - it is a bit confusing having the same name - maybe its to confuse people into thinking they are getting JP cue

Joking aside the thing is if it was Trevor or one of our best makers offering this as a new model you'd have a fair idea what it would be like, all down to established reputations plus it would hold its value, so a no lose.

No dis-respect to Potter at all its just at the moment its hard to say anything good bad or indifferent without seeing one & to justify a ÂŁ450 valuation from a new brand going straight in at the top end, unless of course its been made by a leading cue maker...........but without there badge is it worth the same ?

I'd also be interested if Trevor or our other makers had an opinion on using oak for the shaft ?

Never seen a cue break ! - were you incredibly rough with them or not as tough as ash ???

I've had an oak cue - tough as nails, and so dense it was practically unplayable. Looked the bee's knees however... I tried it over one afternoon, and couldn't get on with it at all, so it got returned, as the maker had offered to take it back if I couldn't get on with it, and I went back to ash!

Somebody (a cuemaker!) once told me that if there was a 'miracle' wood out there, everybody'd be using it, and I reckon all our top cuemakers know how to make a cue with a good taper, so if they're not making cues from oak, then there's perhaps a reason for that, and it's not because they don't know how to taper the cue properly.

yap, read the post properly its not a parris ultimate it a new brand made by the original poster called the specialist cue company going to be badged as a ultimate cue. as far as i know parris as never used oak to make his shafts.
