I've tried that, regarding a Burtwat Champ last year. I specifically asked to see the shaft and got a jigsaw puzzle showing about 10 inches of it in total.
I'd be a moron to take your word for anything. Having seen all of this one I actually feel a lot better about my comments.
Actually I'll take the last part back, as I saw the grain of the bottom chevrons before the top, which looks pretty good.
But seriously, close-ups are great, but if you have time to take so many photos how hard is it to take a couple of steps back and take one that shows the whole thing? It makes me think you're hiding something.

Have you ever tried taking pics of a cue as a whole ?? You end up so far back to get all the cue in that the grain doesnt show up at all, and may as well be a maple cue ! - unless of course you own a very flash camera, and decent lighting, which most people dont

you can't be that bright if you think looking at pictures of a burwat shaft will help you - they are all crap!

its impossible to photograph something that is 150cm's long and 2.5cm's wide! at least it is for me - i have of course tried.

thank you.
can't do it even with a flash camera - i have a friend who is a professional studio photographer who still could not do it - its just not a shape you can capture in one image - look on parris's site or craftsman or anywhere and everywhere is the same because it can not be done, yet some muppet on here has a go at me because i can't do it!
