Oh yes, I'm lack of knowledge about JP cues, so what! I don't fancy JP cues that much, the name is bigger than its value IMO. I have left my JP special untouched for many many years.

JP produced some leaflets and left them in cue shops and sports shops for marketing purpose in 80's. It was common marketing method at that time. He already had professional to ultimate on the leaflet. I picked up a leaflet and found my way to his shop in forest hill to place my order. If you are too young to have seen these leaflts, I wouldn't blame you. But you are too naive to say that these model names did not exist in 80's. And your ignorant is truly laughable, hehe!

So this cue must be fake then. All his cues on the website are hand spliced. Send an email John. He might be able to give you some history lesson. What about those jps with the postcode and numbers other than ultimate?

This is jp reply to me 2 years ago before i bought a jpu more than 20 years without postcode

Hi Alex. Before we started calling the cues by different names i.e. Classic, Exclusive, Ultimate ect, we only had John Parris London SE 23 on the disc. The pictures you have attached are of an ultimate cue made by us in London but as far as I can remember we never put the post codes on the cues with a name.

              Regards John Parris.

Don't get me wrong, I never say the cue without a model name is fake Thank you 888 for telling me that JP cues started without model names. I'm just saying that somebody aid all JP cues were without a model name in 80's is equally ignorant, if not worse.

I didn't mean to imply that at all.

I have not seen that many "hand spliced" JP around at all and I suspect John might have used this badge for only a brief of time or did not build too many cues with this badge. What do you think ADR?

By the way, the cue you had was of excellent condition. I am sure the buyer would be very happy.

why should i waste my time to educate someone who simply doesnot want to face the fact that he made an ignorant comment?
just admit it and move on.
