Maybe a bad time to sell on ebay at the moment , just after christmas when everyones spent out .

I,ve seen Trevor whites sold for more than this for the cue alone , which in my opinion wer,nt so nice .

I think this cue will sell for the asking price but pheraps not just yet .

If i were to put it on ebay then i would put a reserve on it .

I had a bit of sympathy until I saw the £25 for one and a half hours work to package it. What about wear & tear on shoe leather or tyres and fuel to get to the post office.

Wear and tear on the scissors cutting the duct tape.

If I was buying a cue off someone and they came out with that I think I'd probably choke laughing. Funniest thing I've ever read. The price is not outrageous but that certainly is.

Also if it takes you 90 mins to package a cue then your motor skill are at a level where you should not own a cue. Have you thought of one of those games where you put the shapes in the holes?

Wow, I never seen a for sale thread being so heated.
I would like to point out, without taking any side, that actually to see someone trying to make a profit off a cue maker's work is not necessarily a bad thing. My humble opinion is that it means the cue maker's work has a very good resale value and is a good investment. This is good for the cue maker as well. I would rather buy a cue from a cuemaker whose cues have always been sold for more, then buy a cue that the seller always has to take a hugh lost when trying to sell.
Yes, there are people buying just to sell to make a profit, but that is a compliment to the cue maker's work and is a good sign. It means the cue has strong investment value.
I personally think the price is very good for a cue this nice. To be able to get it immediately is worth a lot to some buyers, too. May be not to certain people but especially to those from overseas, it is a definite benefit.
Of course if you know Trevor and have means to get the cue cheaper then it is not for you, but not all people are blessed to have such access or know Trevor personally.
              Peace.

Jb134 if you would read my post a little bit closer, you would probably never wrote this !!! when i say "One and a half hour of work to post it £25" ... it means that nearest post office from my work place is 20-25 min drive on a good day with no trafic and the ques up there longish to. Also my boss a lill strict so he will deduct that hour from my wages and being father of two in these days every penny counts.
All the bitching and jubing in the quoted post above proves to me that people alike you and gazza are not for snooker here but for sheer enjoy of bitching around. Sold this for that !!! Said this and that!!!
                WTF

You might aswell join " the bitching " forum because that's what you REALY good at.

oh ... and you can SAVE your SYMPATHY for yourself .... IDIOT

Nah mate I just posted it because you have, throughout this entire thread quoted every post that agrees with you and put something like "well said", or "more common sense", and after every one that disagreed with you put "idiot".

I just wanted to see if you would do it again. You have, twice.

Just re-read the thread back and see mate, but be careful you don't do it in work time in case your wages get docked.

You bought a cue, saw a way to make a few quid and advertised it. Nothing wrong with that, you're not going to make as much as you'd like off the forum members, nothing wrong with that either.

It's a beautiful cue and commands a good price.

eBay it and move on, just don't forget to put your "explanation" down when you put £52 in for postage costs. Can't wait to see the feedback.

I'd say the moral of the story is "when in a hole, stop digging", because to be frank you made a bit of a fool of yourself there, you'd have been better just to say you felt you were entitled to a small profit, which as pkj points out, you may well be.

Silly primary school style excuses do no-one any good so am sorry if I went over the score, I was trying to have a laugh rather than offend (hence the smiley) but you pretty much deserved it.

In fairness to the guy he shouldn't have to explain how he has priced his cue, either pay it or jog on.

I would assume anyone spending this sort of money would do a bit of research to assertain if it's a good deal for themselves. If they don't take the time to do that then they have more money than sense.

In this instance it seems like a fair price.

No we didn't have a laugh. I foolishly thought you'd be able to take a step back and think "hang on, I'm trying to justify charging £52 to post a cue here, to guys who post them regularly". Realise your silliness and laugh it off.

Even £600 for the lot isn't a bad price but to try to tell us it included £52 p+p, I just thought being light hearted was better that saying it's an absolute disgrace trying to take advantage of forum members that way.

                                Which it is.
