I love Mike's work, it is so precise and elegant.
Is it a new invisible joint? Any picture of the joint?
By the way, I love those floor bench, too.

                      neil:

In my quest to find out who makes the best cues I've tried every major manufacturer out there EXCEPT Mike Wooldridge. This was because the price of the custom type of cue I wanted was over 800quid from his site and I felt that was a little too expensive to give a cue maker a try.

This cue from ADR gives me the opportunity to try out a decent MW cue at a price I can afford just so I give him a fair shake. If I don't get on with it then I think I should be able to sell it on without losing too much money.

Right now I feel Trevor White is leading the pack although the LK.T I have is a damned close one too. I also had an Aurora 1-piece which was excellent and one Robin Cook (which I still have) which is right in there too.

Outstanding orders are a pearwood shaft 3/4-butt from Dan Shelton and also a custom Robin Cook. After those come I'm done as I know I have at least 3 cues here that I can use permanently

                        hi Terry,

reading this post i don't see the name John Parris amongst these cues you have tried. can i ask is this because you had one and dont rate it, or because you haven't tried one?
I seem to recall reading a post that you had a JP as your main cue for years but you sold it or something? unless i'm getting myself confused as to who has posted the many comments i've read on TSF over the last few months...

                          snooks:

I made the mistake of leaving JP off my list. When I played in the UK I used a JP 3/4-butt which I bought sometime in the early 80's I believe. Unfortunately I managed to snap the ferrule and tannin off the cue and had to shorten it down to about 55.5" and it just never played the same.

I subsequently ordered 3 more JP cues but admittedly not one of his top-of-the-line Ultimates so maybe I'm being unfair to JP, but I found all the 3 to be much too stiff for my likes.

I have other cues here too and I just didn't list everything I have. I will be selling some cracking cues and very good prices just to get rid of them in the near future. I have and H&O, 2 x Robin Cook, Acuerate, LK.T, a couple of Andy Travis cues and all of them are around the same specs with ash shafts and about 17.5oz to 18.2oz.

I will post them up here once I decide which 2 cues I'll be keeping for my own use

Hi Terry, what specs have you decided on for the pear shafted cue from Dan and which plate H&O cue is it that you may be selling? Cheers

Am I the only one that doesn't know what the tannin is? Or is this a Canadian thing, as have noticed that Terry uses some sayings that are not English, but he is an Englishman.
