actually i think the machined ones were slightly later. (they started the handspliced ones in 1901 when he first won the title) the silver prize plaque ones are rare though, not seen one for years.

I was told by a cue collector that he thought they were earlier! but I am just repeating what i have been told. Any idea as to the value of it. Or anywhere that I could get a replacement plaque (original)?

i would leave the badge - hard to say a value as i say i have not seen one sell for about 6 years could fetch £50 could fetch £350 ! i think the last one i know of sold for £120. but that means nothing these days.

You may have mis-understood.. 'the collector' told you it would have been made at at the date on the plaque, these usually being fitted at point of sale. The later point was just a comment that machine cues were made earlier than people may think, having been made pre 1900 in some cases! People always tend to assume machine spliced cues to be modern. I can see how you may have interpreted it tho.

Andrew is spot on, the last one I saw sold went for £120, which is where the valuation for a non damaged cue I gave you came from. A cutionary note ebay is dead for cue sale at the moment, I bought a cue I'd have valued at £300 for £140 only a couple of weeks ago.

Good luck with the sale tho!

This reads like some kind of 1930's comment from a wife to a husband!
                          One day I'll make a century, I've knocked in a 51!

See the short machine made modern 'the riley cue' sell for £100!?!

I bought a mint one for £40 twelve months ago. You see cues like this sell for that kind of money then wonder how rare cues are going for not much more!
