Hey Warren, for a home made effort that's a good attempt m8! You still planning on getting a nicer lookin' badge in future?

Miserable git! I'll see what I can find for you. That would look really nice with a small ebony front splice with the flat cut in it and no badge.

Am surprised the weight had to be removed in the manner it was but the splicing looks a very nice job and the tulip a nice match.

well the reason its so hard to drill out steel weights is the steel gets so hot it reactivates the glue and the splices pop, plus drills tend to wander into the wood.

I understand the theory mate am just surprised that someone who can do that job of the splicing couldn't get the weight out that's all.

Craftsman have said the same to me before. My suggestion of a core drill and whip it out like an apply core didn't seem to impress either..

P.S Great attempt on the badge btw

Thanks Mike just a temp fix for now until something turns up that would suit the cue.My origonal idea was a small pic of my son and then put on a clear piece of perspex as i wont be selling the cue..but i decided that this might have been a sillt idea so thats why i just put a plain white badge on.

Have you tried some t cut on the badge? I seem to remember from school a long long time ago, turning sanded perspex into a high gloss finish with just a small rub of t cut?
