  • Wanted Wanted - Maple 3/4 - Have a good one?

I'm going to buy a 3/4 maple cue, and wondered who has one for sale, be it new or used, supplier or player.

It must be 'at least' 58 or longer and have a stiff shaft comprising of top quality maple. I prefer heavy over light.

Decorative maple would be nice, as being a guitarist, I have a passion for Birdseye and Flamed maple.

When I pick a good maple cue up, the shaft reminds me of stone. Anyone who has played with the same will know what I mean.

I'm not a great lover of fancy splices and flames everywhere, so just a plain black ebony butt would be fine.

Tip wise around 9.5 but can play just as well with slight variations either side.

I have a budget in mind, and it doesn't stretch to paying for a name, but might stretch to paying for quality.

Any offers of cues would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks and all the best.

Also, I'd be interested in buying an old Cuecraft maple shaft, which has the old dot to dot quick release mechanism.

Here is a picture of the mechanism on a very old CC cue which has been given a new butt:

I don't care if the butt is in pieces as don't need it. Just the shaft.

Do the new ones have the same joint?
