Hi Dan... I only saw sample cue pics that Jack posted on his Facebook. Liked what I saw, quotation seemed fair and estimated completion time was merely a couple of weeks. Hence, I decided to take a leap of faith and ordered one. I guess I would have to try to find a buyer if it didn't suit me or probably check back with Jack if he can adjust the specs. Luckily, the cue turned out really well.

You may want to ascertain the price and current turnaround time with Jack himself. He is very easy to deal with and I'd have no qualms ordering from him again...

    Cheers...

Think I might head up to Green Baize, they seem to be well regarded and I will be able to see and use my cue before I buy it. Think I'll look on the net to see what else there is to do while im up there, long way to go just for a cue.

Doesn't The Cue Doctor in South End have a range of cues to test?
The must be some where in the south?

Dan is there no large snooker club/hall near to you? They may have a range of cues to test, then you may get an idea of your spec.

          Hi,Dan
Sorry to say that I have no any dealer in England.
I understand that you really want to touch and feel it before you paying the money.
but I believed that the price of our handmade cue was not risk to buy some. I mean it valuable for your money.

You can get the top of our range cue in the lowest price to buy another brand ^^IMG_1053.JPG7colour.jpgIMG_0549.jpg

              Birmingham cue

Dean, I googled the cue doctor and his website is under construction, if my wife ever gets off the phone I will give them a ring and see what stock they hold, do you know of any other places in the south that stock half decent cues? I just tried Yell.com and there was bugger all on there.
Jack, your cues look nice, I will look at your thread and do a bit of research although I have to say I am nervous of buying from overseas and internet fraud (especially from your part of the world) no offense intended. If you had a UK dealer/importer I am sure you would shift a whole lot more of your cues especially if we could visit an outlet and have a knock.
I am about to visit Birmingham for a couple of days, anyone know if there is anywhere there or anywhere between London and Birmingham that sells decent cues?

I believe Mastercraft (not to be confused with Mastercues) is near(ish) Birmingham somewhere.
                  See www.mastercraft-cues.co.uk
A friend of mine order a cue from these guys and it was good value for a very nice cue, very good quality and a good player, maybe give them a call as I am not sure if they have a any to test.

I just googled birmingham snooker cues and there is a place called birmingham billiards that sell cues, has anyone seen one, are they any good? They are made on site and seem quite cheap.

Hi Dan, I'm down in Darlington anyway at he end of the month so though I might as well try Green Baize out while I'm there but I've also heard good things about craftsman. I'm just going to try out as much as possible and see what feels right. Like I said I don't really know what will work for me.

ADR147 - Is there anywhere near Edinburgh you'd suggest? I'd posted this question previously and got directed to Green Baize and Craftsman.

                              Dan,
Just read this and understand your quest a bit further.

I dont have cues in stock, it was the idea but it has evolved that I need to make to ordered requirements to ensure I can sell what I make.

First thing I would suggest before buying or even trying a cue out, that is to establish your specs. What you like and what works for you. Then I would move through a few 2nd hand cues over the course of a year to see how "your" specs evolve and your game grows.
Then once you have a good idea of what works, you can go in search of a decent cue made to your spec and tailored to your game.

                                Just another thought,
Buy a 58 inch Joe Davis 147 cue off ebay for £40. Get it cleaned and re tapered to a 9.5mm tip for £30.
In ash these cues are generally stiff and good enough players.
This will serve you for a year, then if you have a specific design you want, get a custom made cue.
You wont lose much on the joe davis cue.
