In Birmingham there is A&D Billiards ,postcode (B73 5HH, Sutton Coldfield really), Thurston Padmore (B6 7QP) and Birmingham Billiards (WS9 8ER) B &W Billiards ( B64 5QR,Cradeley Heath) . I have supplied postcodes (as far as I know they are correct) so that you can check on Google Earth to see which are closest to where in Birmingham you are actually going.Good luck.

Jason, I have been looking on Ebay and have seen quite a few decent looking 1 piece cues for reasonable money and I may end up taking this option, I will look at the cues in Birmingham tomorrow as I am going there anyway. As far as specs are concerned given my level of ability, I am sure something fairly standard, 57 and half or 58 inch, 9.5mm tip, 18oz approx, 1 piece or three quarter ash will do me just fine, I just really want to see what it feels like when I strike a ball and what the grain looks like when I look down it (as mentioned in earlier post I have wood fetish). Thanks for your comments. Regards DanLast edited by danfire70; 2 August 2011, 11:16 PM.

Dan, Frank has previosuly helped several people on this forum, either on the cue hunt or as a coach as well (very good reviews there).
All the best to you in your search.Up the TSF! :snooker:

In ash these cues are generally stiff and good enough players.
This will serve you for a year, then if you have a specific design you want, get a custom made cue.
You wont lose much on the joe davis cue.

I have bitten the bullet and ordered a Mike Wooldridge, 1 piece Black Shark, despite saying I wanted to see my cue before I bought it this was not going to be possible with this cue (sure I won't regret it) and people on here all seem to say good things about these cues. Glad I won't have to trawl round Birmingham later on and better still I don't have to visit Leeds. Thanks everyone for your comments and advice, I shall be stalking the DHL drivers now until my cue arrives.
