Cue making lathe for sale.
http://www.axminster.co.uk/axminster...he-prod797101/
This is a relatively cheap way to get started on making cues.
Reason for sale is that im simply upgrading. Lathes are big lumps and awkward to move about, a friend has offered me a higher spec lathe and offered to get it all in to my workshop so too good an opportunity to miss.
The spec of the lathe -
59+ inches between centres - Will take a full one piece shaft.
It has a centre steady to support the shaft.
It has a 16mm head stock bore which the cue shaft will fit into so you can then drill into the butts to weight the cues.
Ive used it to properly round and final taper shafts, Shape butts, fit ferrules, drill cues for weighting. Pretty much everything you could want.
If you add a chuck which cost around £80 from Axminster then you could easily do 3/4 split cues on it.
It does have a copy attachment which means you can fix a master shaft under the bed and then replicate that taper on the wood mounted between the centres via a cutter which fits in the tool post. I havent really used that as my experience isnt that great with lathes. It is originally designed to be used for replicating stair spindles so you can produce say 10 identical spindles for a staircase.
I have the original transport pallet it came on so would need a tail lift lorry.
Comes with 2 fixed centres, 2 drive centres, drill chuck, 2 spare cutters for the tool post, Centre steady, 2 face plates.
In excellent first class working condition. I brought it new.
£900.00
Anyone genuinely interested please PM me.
Will advertise it on wood forums if no interest.
