I know he played for most of his playing career with a cheap 1 piece ash machine spliced cue that he payed £3 way back in 1976. Then he was presented with a 3/4 hand made ash cue by Keith Auld from Wimbledon round about 1988..

Andrew sells a lot of Mastercraft cues in his ebay shop, and other people rate them pretty highly too so if it was made by them as the ad says, it should be a good buy. (you should really have started a new thread asking for an opinion on it though..)
If you want to play the pink, but you're hampered by the red, you could always try to play the brown!
