and back on topic, i know its not being 100% honest, but if the cue was refinished by mr white and appeared as new then thats how hes gonna advertise it really.....rightly or wrongly.

he's probably bought it for the £260, had a couple of knocks with it, realised its not for him and sold it on doubling his money.

not being entirely honest, but the winning buyer will never know, unless he see's this, and its happy days for the seller.

the first price was too low the second too high! i would have thought on ebay it should heave fetched about £400 as a second hand cue in good order.

I believe the main problem is perhaps the cue was altered in some way so it does not play as a Trevor White cue should. For example, may be the shaft was thinned down to become really whippy or something like that. If the buyer buys the cue believing he was getting a Trevor White and ends up with a cue that hits really poorly because of the work done on the cue by someone else which was not disclosed he might be very disappointed or may even draw the false conclusion that Trevor's cues all hit like this cue.

Yes, the issue I have is something like that Airin.

To be more accurate, it's more to do with the finish of the cue. If a person sells something as "in unused condition", then it implies it's new, and as such, it should be the same standard as a new cue would be if bought directly from whoever made it. However, this was a USED CUE, and was also altered by someone at some point in the past, so, although it was refinished, it was definitely not the same quality of finish that a brand new unused cue would be. The eventual winner might think on receiving it that if he placed an order for new one from me, that it may be just like this one he had won at auction, whereas it would not. It's that aspect to the listing which was misleading, and, if I had seen it, I'd have asked for it to be adjusted to make that clear.

I have no problem with anyone making profit on anything I do, as long as it does'nt affect people's perception of what I make.
