My Dad nicked it off the table just before the interval during his 10-8 defeat of Joe Johnson in 1985, it's been sat gathering dust ever since, but it's just too nice a glass to be sat idle. With a bit of TLC it could be as good as new and an ideal aid for those of you wanting to learn to screw the ball back into baulk off a safety shot.

How very dare you, it was Bill's World Championship glass and therefore commands respect with your offers!

sorry to disillusion you DWOT but I think you're Dad is "bigging it up" ... no-one in the 80's would have been brave (or stupid) enough to steal Big Bill's pint of beer from under his nose ...

what I suspect was that your Dad nicked it whilst Big Bill was peeping round the curtain as Cliff Thorburn made the first 147 at the Crucible in 1983 ... if you watch this video, there is a funny looking bloke at 7:40ish smirking wearing black rimmed glasses and wearing a Val Doonican pullover ... I suspect that's your Dad - he might look different these days but he probably still has the pullover (Christmas present from an Auntie) ...

                hope this helps ...

I think I know where you're coming from here but I wont steal your thunder ... I suppose next you'll be selling a pair of trousers split in an embarassing place ...

But, being serious for a moment, thank you for reminding me of Big Bill - I have many happy memories of watching him whilst sitting on my Mum's lap way back then ...

May Big Bill (and my Mum) rest in peace ...

After having read that it makes me wonder what your idea of a serious offer is ? :snooker:

Oops sorry DWOT ... I thought you were being humorous given the threads currently on TSF about supposed Alex Higgins and Ronnie O'Sullivan memorabilia hence my facetious posting - but judging from your reply, it seems you are serious ... either that or you have an extremely dry sense of humour ...

So please accept my apology for what now seems an inappropriate posting ... although I'm still not quite sure whether you're being serious or not ... maybe I'm being dumb as usual

Of course it's a joke thread!

To be honest I haven't seen the other threads, I was just watching some of Bill on Youtube and thought I'd take the wee wee a little.
