Altho i am a liitle surprised, coz you can't receive private messages until you reach 10 posts, and your 10th post was saying you had an offer by private message ??? lol (hope i'm right with all that )

About this deal, it is very strange. Original poster cannot receive any PM (he had less than 10 posts) so you accepted his asking price here and told him you would buy his cue at his asking price, also details of your address was given. In my part of the world this is usually considered a binding agreement--he made you an offer and you accepted it--so the cue should have been sold to you.
Instead of honoring the agreement, he refused to follow through with the deal and also changed his terms of sales (after it was accepted by you) and tried to sell the cue to the highest bidder--although his original post clearly stated no offers.
It is like two people have shaken hands on a deal then one person just turns around and signs another agreement with someone else!
Now, he is saying he has sold the cue to the one who offered him the highest bid via PM, although he could not have been able to accept any PM as he did not have 10 posts until after he sold the cue.
Most of us have never seen the pictures of the cue so we dont even know if it is a real John Parris cue. May be it is a blessing that you did not buy it...you just never know...LOLLast edited by poolqjunkie; 8 December 2011, 10:42 PM.

Shouldn't be able to put items up for sale with so little posts to start with.....
I know this still don't stop ppl taking liberties really, but it would sure stop ppl just popping up and selling stuff from the off...
Ya can't pm, post images etc but anybody can come here, sign up and start selling straight away,, Hmmm, needs looking at surely...

Yes Cally, there has been talks about some traders/cue makers who just signed up to sell cues, without contributing to the forum on anything else.
But I think it is hard to stop that, and personally it does not really bother me as long as no one gets scammed.
But in my humble opinion, there should be some guideline for sellers/buyers to follow so as to protect both parties and it is also good for the image and credibility of the forum as a whole.
If anyone can just come here and try to list a cue at a very low price then solicite highest bid without any monitoring, TSF can become another ebay but without any security and protection offered to the buyers/sellers.
