ok, fair enough....
I was just thinking you put dibs in for this to have a looksy after reading the reviews of the 'c' brand, and you wanted to look at what the fuss was about, and i thought you may have been expecting a 'c' brand has that is what is normally reviewed well.
And like i said, i think uv sources from different workshops and this may be the lesser one. i dunno. seems strange taht's all...
Either way, not good....

Phoenix, Mastercue, O'min and possibly one or two others are not rebadged so therefore they don't count. I'm fully aware that you can get quality cues over there but you pay a premium price for them.
I'll just reiterate what I said about GBL who is an English based cuesports retailer, they aren't based in Thailand or do business out there so they have cues manufactured for them by some other cue maker who is then putting on a GBL badge as though they are solely made for them. I'd bet that they also make cues under some other name too but Stu is not going to divulge that information as he is obvioulsy making a tidy profit on them. Yes Stu isn't getting them and putting his own badge on but that still doesn't mean they aren't manufactured by someone else.
The reason you say you won't name names is pure and simply because there aren't any UK based cue makers who sell cues made for them by someone else, not in the £175+ price bracket which was my original post. I'm not denying that some have cues made but they aren't priced at that and are aimed at the lower end of the market.

PS. And the asking price of USD245 is about 50% more than I paid.

As I've said in my previous post I think there's something a bit dodgy going on here. I'd really like Unclevit himself to come on to The Forum personally and clarify things. The cue you've bought doesn't have any of the really fancy splicing associated with C-brand cues and the dodgy badge is just a joke. Ask for your money back and see what the response is!

I really did'nt want to reply to this threat but for the sake of future costumers who are planning to order cues from Unclevit my advice would be " BE VERY CAREFULL ". Last year i ordered a custom made cue from Unclevit, the production of the cue took approximatelly 6-7 months instead of the 6-8 weeks quoted by him. The cue looked OK except for the sticky material that was applied to the butt, i used the cue for a couple hours and all of a sudden i noticed a small crack in one the splicings, but the cracks did'nt just stop there, eventually they appeared all over the butt. When i emailed him about the problem he asked me to send the cue back to him at my expense. The cheapest parcel service from Australia to Thailand was going to cost me approximatelly 80-90 AU dollars, eventually we came to a compromise where by i would send him a bit more money and he inturn would make me a new cue. But again i was dissappointed with the new cue, the shaft was badly damaged where by it had about 6-7 deep dents " the dents looked like clamp marks of the lathe" and also they had installed the wrong 3/4 vacuum joints in the cue. I had gone to a lot of trouble finding the threaded joints from UK (KLIK)and having them sent to Unclevit in Thailand for my new cue.Unclevit was very appologetic but how does this help me ?? Is it my fault that they stuffed up not once but twice ?? As a freindly warning to all forum members BE CAREFULL !!

i agree with eaoin11.. ive ordered close to a dozen cues and not had 1 problem. all cues turned up very good. i find in australias climate, cues of all different brands get pretty sticky, and the finish he uses on his cues are up to the individual cue maker. for that price, u really cant complain. as for cracks, well, australias climate is pretty different from most parts of the world. ive seen cues of all different makes develop small cracks in the ebony after arriving here brand new. u cant blame a cue maker for that.

buying anything from the other side of the world has its risks clearly, and this cue has been sent out in poor condition no doubts. hopefully it gets sorted.
I think everyone knows my opinions on my cue so I won't go on about it anymore, perhaps a bit of luck is needed when ordering from them. poor if so.
the recent price rises also seem a pill that's is hard to swollow.
last thing actually, my cue was proported to be on from unclevits personal collection that he didn't get on with, so no wonder is faultless.
as it stands I wouldn't order a custom cue from them, but if one was posted that took my fancy I would buy again at the right price. that being circa <£150 posted.Unclevit C Brand - CueGuru Tip.
