I'm still confused as to whether ADR has been sold a C-brand or not. If it was a C-brand why not put the red/green badge on it? Really wish Unclevit would post some clarification.

JRC750 I think the workshop make various different cues for various different markets. The C-brand were ones which Unclevit personally supervised and put his name to. There's various posts and I've got some e-mails where Unclevit points out that his C-brand cues have specially selected quality shafts. I was led to believe that the workshop turn out other (slightly inferior?) cues. Some of these were un-badged. I have to say I don't really know what Unclevit's set up is over there or what his relationship with the workshop is. Strange he's not been on the forum to give his tuppence worth. Maybe he's fed up with all the hassle of cue-making. He's always said he didn't make any money and was doing it as a hobby.

I've ordered two cues from unclevit (suvit). The first was a 3/4-butt 'C' brand (red) and everything was fine with the cue except I didn't really like the high gloss on the butt. I asked Suvit what it was and he replied '12 coats of French Polish" which is what they use on grand pianos and high-end furniture. I have a bottle of it here which I use one or two coats to bring out the look of the butt, especially the splices and veneers.
The second cue is a bit funny in that it has a Peradon badge with Joe Davis on the flat of the butt although the matching extension is badged as 'C' made in thailand.
For andrew...the french polish can be removed easily using acetone and then you can gently sand the butt smooth using very fine emery. I've done this and then applied on coat of french polish to bring out the wood of the butt a bit. My brasswork was fine on both these cues and in fact I sold the first one in a couple of days.
This second one is taking a while to sell since I haven't yet re-done the butt plus it's a maple cue and pretty stiff and the length is at 56.7". However, I have to say when they sent pictures of this cue the Peradon - Joe Davis badge was clearly visible in the photo so I have no complaints but I will admit I don't like the varnish-like feel of the thick french polish finish.

That's roughly £150 which is less than I paid for my Mastercraft Eclipse and my Craftsman Century. When I compare the three cues the C-brand is far superior. I believe the C-brand is very good value for money and I know a couple of other Forum members who have C-brand cues and feel the same. I really think you've been unlucky. These things happen I suppose.

I remember that when Unclevit was selling cues made by Uncle Thai a couple of years back they sometimes had a random badge and sometimes Peradon but Unclevit made this clear when selling them. I guess it's a popular thing to do in Thailand.

I think people are missing the point here. If you receive a cue from a cue maker that is either defective or not to your specifications, one should have the option of either being fully compensated or have the cue replaced or alternatelly have the cue repaired at the expence of the cue maker. In my case i got shafted not once but twice. Did i get fully compensated " NO ", would i ever order a cue from Unclevit " NEVER ", would i recomend him to any of my freinds " DONT THINK SO ".
Andrew also got shafted, it's clear and simple. Has Unclevit offer to fully compensate him " I DOUGHT IT ".
I dont think any one in this forum likes to slag off any reputable cue maker, but i think Unclevits business dealings should be monitored a bit closer in this forum.

I'd bet my last £1 that:
A) He doesn't know they are doing this.
B) He is the sole user of the account and is a fool. Building up a good reputation then tarnishing it by sending out crap.
I'd be more inclined to say it's reason A.
It's unfair that this user is allowed to sell cues without proper information. I'd be happy to see them banned so as to stop other members from getting ripped off
