Not sure the tulip really works very well with the cocobolo mate, might have been better as just a whole cocobolo butt....totally a personal thing though sure someone will love it........

Nothing in ash at the mo.

I wasn't sure what to add to the cocobolo, the dark tulip looks good in the flesh.

Its a tricky one cocobolo looks nice on its own or as single/four splice against black ebony with maybe a thick maple veener, so it might look good in reverse...coco butt, ebony splice, maple veneer........not sure.

it'll look very different in a few years.

the cocobolo will go so dark, you will barely be able to see the pattern. it will be somewhere between dark brown and very dark brown.

the very reason i do not like to use cocobolo...

but at least the tulip will look better contrasting against it.

              I think it looks great,

The third photo makes it look like a fizzy lolly pop.

Whats next jason? We had macassar and now cocobolo, Plain ebony? Paduk?

I love the grains and figures on your cocobolo.
A bold statement choosing tulip and cocobolo. Keep up the great work.
You are getting better with each cue I think I may need a faster computer to keep up with you.
Good luck with the sales, mate.

Cheers Airin, I wasnt sure about the cocobolo / tulip combination. I went for a nicely figured tulip and the results look good.
I have to say its not to my taste but want to do something other than a plain cocobolo butt.
I am coming to the end of the orders I have to make and so can then experiment more and try some ideas I want to make.

Nice to see you trying something bold and different. Some will like it and some wont but that is just the way people are.
