  • eBay New Andy Travis 1pc Maple Cue

Hi everyone I have for sale a brand new 1pc maple cue hand crafted by Andy Travis. The finish and quality is second to none with perfectly formed and even splicings, and even taper. The butt is jet black ebony with 4 rich coloured tulip wood splicings. The specs are
    58" long
9.75 mm tip with a soft Phoenix tip
    17.75oz weight
    29mm butt
    Tulip wood mini butt
I haven't a clue how to upload pictures on here yet but will email anyone interested straight away.
The cue is on eBay though so pictures are there if you want to see them quickly.
If you haven't held a cue from Andy yet they are on level par with anyone around right now, in terms of quality and finish. I've had cues from all the top makers and this is as good if not better.
Sensible offers over £300 will buy it.
Many thanks and any questions pls email me markhomebuy@yahoo.co.uk
    Thanks for looking

No offence but is £300-£400 not a bit expensive for an Andy Travis. Andy first started selling his cues on the Forum and if my memory is correct they were around £150. They started to creep up a bit in price and I guess I'm just really surprised they're up to over £300 now. I'm not saying £300 is excessive I'm just looking for some clarification. Last year I was looking at Andy's cues in the same bracket as Mastercraft, ie, good quality mid-range cues but not quite TW or MW. Whats changed?

Yeah I agree with that bigmeek. It seems like as soon as someone has a slight bit of exposure and gets a better reputation that the price goes up nearly 150%. Maybe its because they see others charging more or they start to think that their work is on a par with other cue makers that they then price the cues accordingly. Either way good luck to anyone who can get what they ask for as regards cues.

I don't think Andy is asking that much as yet, and that it is what the seller is asking.
And the ebay Buy Now at £400 brought a smile to my face

Thank you for all your replies regarding price. I have no idea what Andy charges now or in the past, surely if the quality and finish is there then it's not a lot of money though. I'm certainly not looking to make a lot out of it, I'm sorry if you guys think I am. Branding is a wonderful thing, what I look for is how good something is and pay accordingly.
                Regards Mark

best of luck with the sale
My comments where in no way derogatory, to either you or Andy T.

Agreed and hence my post. Last year Andy's cues were comparable to Mastercraft/Craftsman. Mid range £150-£200. Just trying to understand what's changed. Have you personnally decided that this is a great cue and worth £300+ or did you pay £300+ and are just trying to recover your money? I'm not bothered either way but I was curious as to whether Andy's cues were now in the £300+ price bracket.

Hi no affence taken, I really like seeing people's opinion to all things snooker. As you know I've recently joined the forum and I'm addicted now so thank you everyone. Ok the cue, I hope Andy reads the forum and this post imparticular as to hear someone praising your work must give you great heart to continue. Of course if it had a different badge, or several household names were using Andys cues it would have sold already I'm sure, and that's a shame don't you think? As with most things I happy to talk offers, so if you like what you see drop me a line.
                          Please keep the debate going
                          Regards
