Like always, 'search' is your best friend.
I had a thread up awhile back. Here's the thread;

I did do a search mate and I read loads of threads, some of them were over a year old. I did see your post but if I'm honest I don't like the rounded butt and I would like something closer to my specs. Also I would like a numbered ultimate so I can verify the cue is genuine by ringing John parris (no offence is intended I'm sure your cue is genuine). Thanks all the same though mate, has anyone else got a 1 piece ash ultimate they are willing to part with? I have a good budget set aside and my IDEAL specs are 58" 9.5mm 18-18.5oz. Thanks, Rob77 in a match, 97 in a line up

JP ultimate 1 piece ash
Well it is going to be difficult to find a cue with your ideal specs in a budget price range to be honest. It's like having a custom cue sold cheaply to you, unless you come across somebody with the same or similar specs but I doubt it would be sold cheaply.
To be fair you can have something similar and always adapted to how the cue plays.
Good luck finding your perfect cue.

I don't know why people go for the Ultimate cue from JP. You are really just paying the premium for the quality of grain, nothing else. I've seen some stock cues with just as nice grain and many of the Specials IMO are better than some Ultimates I've seen. Still if you want it for piece of mind knowing you are playing with the best that you can buy then fair enough but for me the price is just too much of a premium for cosmetic grain perfection.

Depending on what your budget is, I'd recommend (instead of waiting a millennia for a JP) looking at a Trevor White or mike wooldridge. Mikes work I have seen, and is better than JP IMO, and I've never heard a bad word about Trevors cues.If you want to play the pink, but you're hampered by the red, you could always try to play the brown!

Ive got a 1 piece robin cook which is lovely but a little bit light for me and I dont wanna alter the cue as I prefer a cue in original condition. Im also waiting on a 1 piece trevor white so I wanted the John parris ultimate to truly compare the 3 and feel what is best for me to use as my main playing cue. Im sure I will find 1 eventually and im in no major rush I just didnt wanna order 1 from JP wait for almost 12 months for then to be disappointed with it, ive spoke to a few people now who have assured me they will give me a shout if they get any ultimates. Hopefully I will find 1 soon, good to hear you will be getting yours darren as i had seen your posts looking for an ultimate.77 in a match, 97 in a line up
