my cue collection john parris ultimate 1pc ash -replica j.p.mannock
Jason should in my opinion be taken off this forum with immediate effect. Although if he hadn't posted the said cue for sale then we wouldn't have had such an amazing post would we. There is a wealth of knowledge on here and it makes great reading, just such a shame it's cost someone £850 in the process.
Regards
Mark

I echo that Mark and I would also think that the buyer should contact the police. We have enough evidence, particularly from the fake receipt that this guy has knowingly fraudulantly sold a cue that was fake, made up a fake receipt and yet still went through with the sale despite many people highlighting this. I also think the JP himself should be sent details of this as he may also take it as a matter of interest to get this guy done too.

Poor form in my opinion but as the cues and badges are easy to copy , there is not alot that can be done about it in my opinion .Still trying to pot as many balls as i can !

Well there is something that can be done about it but it seems like nobody can be bothered. This guy apparantly lives is Paisley according to his profile. Could ferret not pass on his IP address and get the police involved and see if they can do something. If we just allow members to do this then we may as well advertise for fake cues. I think things would be a little different had this been a Trevor White or Mike Wooldridge cue in question!

This will harm everyone in the long run if nothing is done. Obviously you would approach someone with less than 10 posts selling a cue with some amount of caution but the OP had over 240 posts and so looked like a trustworthy forum member. This will sew seeds of doubt into a lot of peoples mind and make it a lot harder for genuine people to sell cues on the forum, especially considering the lengths Jason went to with the fake receipt etc

Absolutely carlos, I am frankly very disappointed with Ferret at the moment, he hasn't even acknowledged this and to be honest I'm starting to question my own participation on this site as it seems anyone can do what the hell they like without consequences.
Lets look at some of the history on this site. Firstly we had the Dan Shelton situation, a guy that has been making cues for less than a year, and took on so many orders and basically did a runner when things got too tough for him. People even now are still awaiting their cues and quite possibly may never receive them. No action or consequence on him, despite the fact that many orders were made through this site.
Then we had an issue just a few months ago with Unclevit or Unclethai or whatever name he uses. He sold a cue to ADR of all people that was shoddy to say the least, again coming with a dodgy badge and calling into question the ethics regarding the cue making industry in Asia.
And now this episode, where a, what we thought, fairly respected member has now passed off a fake cue, accompanied with a fake invoice and once again no action taken.
Now I'm all for giving anyone the benefit of the doubt but its becoming a common occurence don't you think. There are other incidents that I know I've missed here.
I said at the very start when this selling/buying section was created that it needed to be policed properly. When deals are exchanged on the site where is the protection for the buyer? There simply isn't any! There are not any rules governed about the selling and buying on this site, at the very least highlight the dangers that if a member was to conduct any business that they do so at their own risk.

I personally find it disgusting that people do this kind of thing. It does nothing but add suspicion to everything people do, which I don't think is fair in the slightest for people trying to genuinely sell a good item. It makes people also try and find flaws with perfectly good items again causing honest sellers result to the likes of Ebay, which is starting to end up selling most of un-sold items on here."You have to play the game like it means nothing, when in fact it means everything to you" Steve Davis.

I think of it is felt that the seller knew they were passing on fakes, out them. Even if they didn't know, no harm in it being in the public domain, at least this way people can make an informed choice.
