  • Wanted Tip shaft sleeve

Does anyone know where I can purchase a tip shaft sleeve used for protecting the ferrule and the top of the shaft? I saw Ding using one against Ebdon in the China Open recently.

do a Google (or whatever) search for "Cue Tip Protector" and you will hit many, especially from US.
Beware though most are large, >10-11mm, as they usually are for US pool cues.
A friend of mine made his own, as he does not use a case, with a small piece of plumbing pipe insulation, slightly cut down to be smaller and taped. Works well. Also with the hi-vis tape he used, you cannot miss it in the corner
Personally, I find that within a nice case, the tip does not need any further protecting. Also in my mind, depending on the case you use and the space available, if the protector is too big you could unintentionally put more stress on the narrowest part of the cue

I use Bubble Milk Tea Straw cut to length then fold and staple one end... Instant tip protector!

That's a good idea Shekman... I hate it when the cue tip leaves chalk marks in my case. Not to mention bubble milk tea is quite a delicious drink too...

That's the reason I use one too, hate chalk marks on case.
With the straw, you can also pick any color/patten you like and it cost pretty much nothing

Buy a electronic cigarette each end has soft plastic cap that fits perfectly over 10mm tip stops the tip rubbing in the case and stops it getting damp.

A friend that has one of these gave me one of these caps, it did have a bobble in the inside but that was cut out easily, but on my pool cue (8.2mm) it is too loose, now if only it was longer then it could snuggle onto the shaft nicely.
                            cheers for the tip though.
