  • eBay Mike Wooldridge (The CueFather) - Olive Shark

For Sale - 2 Month old(!) Mike Wooldridge Olive Shark

I've played with this cue twice since it arrived on 17th Feb for a couple of frames each time, the tip that came with the cue must have absorbed moisture or something in transit (Or Mike sent it out with a duff one...) because it was veeeeeery soft like a sponge. I took the tip off and didn't get around to replacing it until this weekend.. it now has a new Aurora laminated tip fitted (nice job I reckon).

While waiting for the cue to arrive, having had it customised a little, I got impatient and bought the Macassar Legend cue Paul was selling a few months ago on TSF (having no cue to play with since selling the Pheonix a while ago..). Since playing with that cue we've had quite some success winning our first league title since 1966 - In fact I haven't lost a game with it.. yet . This is the reason I haven't really given the Shark a good outting, our league went to a final playoff so I didn't want to change cues while it was still in play.

Anyway, just a bit of info for anyone wondering what's wrong with the cue, and why I'm selling it after so little time - the answer is nothing, but why change a winning formula! The temptation to switch cues after one bad game is one of my weak points, so I plan to remove the temptation.

    Specs:
1 piece with F1 joint in base
    9 1/4mm tip
    57 3/4" long
    17oz weight (485g)
    Balances around 18"

£325 delivered for TSF members only!

(YES that is same price as a new one, but with the butt joint and smaller tip adj the cue would set you back £395+PP - I have the invoice for that! (and not one of Jasons).. so basically you can go out and buy yourself one of Mike's amazine F1 extensions for free and pocket some change too).

Pics to follow shortly.. my camera refuses to work in low light - some pics on my site here:

Yes will consider swap for something of equiv value, or old cues!

..But is mainly being sold to fund two (more like 1!) new tyres for my car @ 265/35/19 = ouch.. will swap for those!.. but must be N rated .

Lovely looking cue mate, you shouldn't be having to hold onto it for long :snooker: Good luck with the sale

odd. you should have told me, i would have sent replacements.

never mind, i would not choose to send out a duff one and i have no idea why it was that bad. it should not ever be like that.

as for the cue, i priced them too cheap really. the quality is different class. better shafts than you would find on the dearest custom cues of others, and a unique appearance/style. a true collectors cue.

anyone who thinks they know about good cues or cue collecting should pick this up without hesitation.

I'm only jesting about you sending out a duff one Mike, it was only a tip! Not sure what happened to it though, visibly deformed when you played a stroke, like playing with suspension on your tip?!

The shaft is a beauty.. Wait till I get that camera sorted, lovely arrows..

I also bought an Olive Shark from Mike a couple of months ago and would like to vouch just how good it is. I love the black veneer on the splices, it's a really distinctive look. The cue is a joy to use. Just wish I'd hung on for one of the new black ferrules...

                Hi Mark, yes still available.
I forgot to pick up the camera from my fathers today and I'm off walking in the Dales Fri/Sat so it may be Sunday before I can sort the extra pictures if you'd like any.

                  Hi Mike,
Does this cue have the Blackspin ferrule fitted? I take guess it would be shipped in original packaging.

As for N rated tyre's, you must have something rather swift? Have you tried Camskill? Also Rotation UK (prices vary but sometimes they have some silly prices)

No black spin ferrule on this of my 2012 legend.. Probably my finance cautious instinct but it might be a good ploy to see how those work out first, tbf there haven't been anyone playing 18 months with then so we've no Ida how they last!

Just a boxster s but the last set of Michelin ps2 last 14000 miles at 320 a corner eeek

Bugger me what do you drive? Strangely enough worse tyre wear I ever had was from my first car, yaris 1.5 t sport! They fitted stupid track type tyres to get the performance stats, completely gone in 4-5k.
