Hi Matty, after a few really bad weeks playing terrible, i decided to start selling and concentrate on just one (or 3 cues )
Tried to sell one but ended up taking 2 in exchange instead lol, and have got my Cook cue arriving very soon i hope, plus Jim is making me a cue, gonna end up with far too many pretty soon, and bike is in for service on Saturday in readiness for red hot summer so money needed all over the place.
The Willie Smith is a Tony Ions replica, Rosewood butt 57 1/2" 9.8 17.5 oz 30.5 butt, balances at 18"
At the moment only for sale to you, so no one else please ask lol, if you make me a serious offer i will have a think on it

Andrew, You know as much as I do that people dont appreciate that Tony Ions makes a great cue, or made a great cue (Not sure if he is still producing)
His badges and attention to detail is no where near as good as Glover.

I would think we could always spot a Tony Ions replica, but I would reckon that apart from the obvious as new condition, we would struggle to spot a Glover replica.

not sure about that - some of ions cues are very very good indeed especially the ones he did when he had the exact plastics.

From the few Ions cues I have had, he makes a brilliant playing cue. I actually played with one of his cues for 3 years.

But Ive got a fair few of Tony Glovers badges and the majority are absolutely spot on. Ive seen a few of Glovers replicas and you couldnt tell, they would get past most people.
Now ive seen the cues that Charlie Nolan had, and subsequently Ian Davies brought and the badges are no where near the quality of Glovers in comparison to the originals.

I'd be surprised if a few hadn't found their way into even the best collections..

I have two snooker cues made by Glovers. Both cues made to my specifications and i'm really pleased with them. I've seen some of Tony's replica cues and must say they're really nice.

As I have said to many people before what suits one person may not suit another.

I can't agree more with the last post. A few of my friends and myself included have tried, borrowed and bought cues. Eventually one feels just right to play with. It doesn't matter how many splices or how much it cost as long as it suits you.
