May I ask why it needed refinishing? What kind of finish do these normally come with?
                  Tear up that manure-fed astroturf!

It was fine when i first got it, oiled etc. but the grain wasnt so prominent, so had dave darken the grain and re finish.

Looks like you've had the lacquer removed from the butt too? Nice cue, sure you'll sell it quickly.
Recently bought a phoenix myself, best grained cue I've ever had and a very nice player too. Can't see why people would pay over the odds for a cue when these are as good as anything on the market for well under £300.

Are you the same cueman who has a 1 piece Ultimate from John Parris on order?

thats me! I know what I said probably sounds stupid and contradictory but I placed the order for the JPU about 4 weeks before I bought this Phoenix. I'd heard good things about them and as Craftsman had recently had a new batch in I thought I'd try one out and I'm really glad i did. Still stand by what I say though, the JPU as Cazmac based his reasons on buying one, is because JP is nearly retirement age and I'd rather get one now whilst he's still involved actively as its as much an investment as anything, and they nearly always play well.
