I got my recent cue shortened by an inch and it went from 9.2 to approx 9.7, so as a guideline expect 0.4 to 0.5mm

I would guess that an inch of the wooldridge cue above will leave the tip approx 9.2...

I dont think that is the case.

I dont know too much about blackspin but if the current ferrule is 8.75. I very much doubt can be used again unless shortening and retapering.

The blackspin/any ferrule would need to fit the size of cue when cut.

Yes your right, as you said its 8.75 and after shortening cue if its leaves the cues as a 9.2 tip then the blackspin would be to small, a normal brass ferrule would be the way to go, i should read post's abit more
