I've edited the original post but just in case you all don't read it I have today received a brand new cue from raymo147 (exquisite cues Scotland). The cue will be included in the draw with the Mike Wooldridge cue.

    Thank you Raymond

    God bless

    Fred xxxx

I'm really sorry to hear the news mate. My Mother died from cancer, like you she knew it was terminal, but had 18 months where she had chance to say her goodbyes properly and 'settle' things. It gave her a peace and freedom, bizarrely I was always very thankful for this, as you say not all of us have this opportunity. You have time now to 'make memories' for your kids. I hope you stay as well as you can for a good while yet mate.

By the way, get the party in the Grafton, I'm sure we could make a mess of that place !

On a related topic, could we get a tournament or something sorted, somewhere central and the proceeds go to Fred ?

I really hope your mum didn't suffer too much.
The grafton closed down a long time ago. Pity though, I had a few errrrrrrrmmm interesting nights there in my younger days....

If any of my TSF friends are in or around Liverpool on the 15th March you would be made very welcome at the party. If you drop me a Pm I will give you e details.

We both have differing styles on the table but are bizzarely closely matched, think of him as a slightly rounder Judd Trump and me as a stretched out Mark Williams! Last year he beat me 74-68 in a year-long head to head.
We talk snooker, watch snooker, play snooker, he runs the snooker league in the place we both work and he is the reason I bought my Trevor White cue and North Wales case, without his words I would still be deciding now.

He rang me 3 weeks ago with a phone call which has changed my look on life, with the news that just still hasn't sunk in and I can't make sense of it.
I've just been to see him and he is overwhelmed by the generosity of snooker lovers he hasn't even met yet from here at TSF. He is an inspiration, they way he is dealing with it is just an amazing piece of selflessness far greater than I could ever think of. If you're thinking of buying a ticket well then I hope you do and I'm immensely thankfull to those who have and will and to those who have simply donated some of there own personal money towards such a brilliant cause.
I will be here to inform people of the outcome of the raffle if Fred is too guinessed up the day after the party when the raffle will take place.
Thanks again people and thanks to Mike, this is what life is about, helping people.......
                Steve,

Indeed we have become very close friends. And long may it continue.
Our snooker "tactics" are so different its unreal but it is always a great competitive game. Calling me a fat judd......not sure about that one though!!!! Lol

The situation I am in is surreal. I said in an earlier post about my mindset changing so I won't repeat myself but to have a friend like Steve by my side is an immense help. When he walks into my house I get an instant boost of energy. (Bored of looking at the misses lol) your words ste are an inspiration by itself and I vow to fight this thing all the way.

Thanks for your help and support ste

                Fred xx

can i just say that when fred told me about his condition i was deeply moved. i've 'met' a lot of nice people on the internet through my business over the years and consider many to be friends.

fred has always been friendly, polite, and by reading between the lines of various emails we've shared, i knew he was one of the good guys. and so, maybe without him realising, i added him to my mental friend list.

i've been asked many times to donate stuff but it's simply not possible. in this instance i had no hesitation. a lovely man, who i hope makes a miraculous recovery (i'll have the cue back though )

it's heartening to see the response of tsf members, particularly those who say sell it and add to fund if they win. a very kind gesture in view of the circumstances.

i've never been to liverpool, i might even try to make it. mind you, i'll need somewhere to park the car, don't wanna come out and find it jacked up on bricks...

dig deep tsf, it's only a fiver, and couldn't be going to a better cause.

good luck fred, and don't give up eh...

                        Kind words Mike.

I will reserve a special parking space for you if you come to the party, but never mind your wheels, you would be lucky to find your car if its left too long!!

Joking apart Mike there are loads of lovely hotels in Liverpool and the venue is only 5 mins in a cab from the city centre, (secure parking is available lol)
If they find a cure for what I have I will be the miracle of all miracles. I was with the consultant last Tuesday and she dropped my medical file. I picked it up and on the front in BIG BLACK letters were the words "non curative". It seemed to hit home the gravity of my situation. As I've said in an earlier post, this disease is NOT going to ruin what I have left on our glorious earth. I owe it to my wife and 4 children to fight as long as possible. I may be boring a few people constantly saying "thank you" and rambling on about my cancer but it really does help to talk, type, chat, ramble on. Sorry if I'm boring you all.

Finally Mike I'm honoured that you consider me to be a "mental friend" lol

God bless you Mr Mike Wooldridge.
