This is a cue that was made by me purely to see if I was capable of making a two piece cue entirely by hand. Bit of an experiment, never expected it to be 100% perfect as the butt was pieced together from several different pieces of wenge and the joints were fitted drilling by hand but it isn't too bad and I think it would make someone a very nice playing cue.
I would class it as a sin bin cue aesthetically, but if you're not too bothered about looks there's nothing wrong with it, That being said the shaft does have some very nice chevrons and I have antiqued it to bring them out.
It is not glass smooth as I believe that a piece of wood should feel like a piece of wood and there is a yellow streak in the wenge butt that I have spliced over with darker wenge but it is still visible as you can see in the photos.
Would make a very nice 8 ball cue IMO.
